Forty years ago this week, Come on over to my place by the Drifters reached its highest position of number 9 in the UK singles chart in its fifth week in the top 40 and second in the top 10. After one week at its peak position, the song dropped one place for a final week in the top 10. A further four weeks in the lower top 40 followed before the record left the chart.
