Thirty years ago this week, The first picture of you by the Lotus Eaters was at its highest position of number 15 in the UK singles chart for the second of two weeks. It had entered the top 40 six weeks previously at number 36. After falling from its peak position, the song spent two more weeks in the top 40 and then left the chart.

The first picture of you was released on the Sylvan record label and was the only UK top 40 hit for the Lotus Eaters. It was included on the album No sense of sin, which failed to enter the UK albums top 40 in 1984, peaking at number 96.
