Right Here – SWV

SWV occupied the UK top 10 for six weeks in 1993 with this track.

Twenty years ago this week, Right here by SWV reached its highest position of number 3 in the UK singles chart, having entered the top 40 two weeks previously at number 7. After one week at its peak position, the song started to slide down the chart but stayed in the top 10 for another three weeks. A further four weeks in the lower top 40 followed before the record left the chart.

Right here was released on the RCA record label and was the only top 10 hit for SWV in the UK. It was the first track taken from the album It’s about time, which reached number 17 in the UK albums chart.
