Fifty years ago this week, You were made for me by Freddie and the Dreamers was at number 3 in the UK singles chart for the first of four weeks. It had entered the top 40 four weeks previously at number 39 and broke into the top 10 three weeks later. After falling from its peak position, the song spent another three weeks in the top 10 and then dropped into the lower top 40 for the final three weeks of its chart life.

You were made for me was released on the Columbia record label. It was the third of four top 10 hits for Freddie and the Dreamers in the UK.
