Wouldn’t It Be Good – Nik Kershaw

This track by Nik Kershaw spent five weeks in the UK top 10 in 1984.

Thirty years ago this week, Wouldn’t it be good by Nik Kershaw was at its highest position of number 4 in the UK singles chart for the second of two weeks. It had entered the top 40 five weeks previously at number 38 and broke into the top 10 three weeks later. After falling from its peak position, the song stayed in the top 10 for one more week and then spent the final three weeks of its chart life in the lower top 40.

Wouldn’t it be good was released on the MCA record label and was the first of five UK top 10 hits for Nik Kershaw. It was taken from the platinum-selling album Human racing, which peaked at number 5 in the UK album chart. The single was certified silver.
