Forty years ago this week, Juke box jive by the Rubettes was at its highest position of number 3 in the UK singles chart for the second of four non-consecutive weeks. It had entered the top 40 five weeks previously at number 23 and broke into the top 10 a week later. After eight weeks in the top 10, the song slipped into the lower top 40 for the final three weeks of its chart life.

Juke box jive was released on the Polydor record label and was the second of four top 10 hits for the Rubettes in the UK. It was included on the album We can do it, which failed to enter the UK albums top 40 in 1975, peaking at number 41.
