Twenty years ago this week, Street spirit (fade out) by Radiohead entered the UK singles chart at its highest position of number 5. After one week at its peak position, the song fell to number 21 for a final week in the top 40.

Street spirit (fade out) was released on the Parlophone record label and was the second of seven UK top 10 hits for Radiohead. It was taken from the quadruple-platinum-selling album The bends, which peaked at number 4 in the UK albums chart.
