Don’t Forbid Me – Pat Boone

Sixty years ago this week, Don’t forbid me by Pat Boone was at its highest position of number 2 in the UK singles chart for the second of five weeks. It had entered the top 30 six weeks previously at number 27 and broke into the top 10 two weeks later. After falling from its peak position, the song spent another four weeks in the top 10 and then slipped into the lower top 30 for the final two weeks of its chart life.

Don’t forbid me was released on the London record label and was the fourth of twelve top 10 hits for Pat Boone in the UK. The single was a US number 1.
