Fifty years ago this week, A little bit me, a little bit you by the Monkees reached its highest position of number 3 in the UK singles chart. It had entered the top 40 two weeks previously at number 14 and broke into the top 10 a week later. After two weeks at its peak position, the song started to slide down the chart but stayed in the top 10 for another two weeks, one of them in the top 5. A further four weeks in the lower top 40 followed before the record left the chart.

A little bit me, a little bit you was released on the RCA record label and was the second of four top 10 hits for the Monkees in the UK. The song was written by Neil Diamond.
