Fifty years ago this week, Bernadette by the Four Tops entered the UK top 10 at its highest position of number 8, having entered the top 40 three weeks previously at number 33. After one week at its peak position, the song fell to number 10 for a final week in the top 10. It then spent the last five weeks of its chart life in the lower top 40.

Bernadette was released on the Tamla Motown record label and was the third of eleven top 10 hits for the Four Tops in the UK. It was included on the album Reach out, which peaked at number 4 in the UK albums chart later in 1967.
