This week in 2003, Broken silence by So Solid Crew entered the UK singles chart at its highest position of number 9. After just one week in the top 10, the song dropped into the lower top 40 for the final two weeks of its chart life.

Broken silence was released on the Independiente record label and was the last of four UK top 10 hits for So Solid Crew. It was taken from the album 2nd verse, which failed to enter the UK albums top 40.
